Dropping off the cargo quick

Depending on how much your ship holds this can get a bit crazy keeping it all straight in your head. Eventually you get use to it and you can remember all the places you have to go. I hold 2696 cargo currently and don't have a problem remembering where my missions have to go. Again it is important to keep it within a specific target group of systems so this is easier to remember.

This picks is also assuming you have a similar list of target systems. If you are dropping all over the place this won't work out to well.

Something which helps me remember locations is the placement of the planet buttons on the orbit page, not the actual planet names. For example with Tornsul, I don't think of the 3 planet names rather I think of the top middle and bottom planet. Then I just picture that in my head for what ones I need to drop off at. Not the names, just top middle or bottom planet.

The first thing you want to do is store the text "p g" in your virtual find. This will allow you to exit the system and move on to the next system by just pressing f3 instead of searching it over and over or looking for the jump gate button in the list of planets and stars.

For dropping quick you have to know the layout of both the planet buttons and orbit buttons for where you are going. For example if a planet is in the middle of the planet buttons but first second in the list of orbit buttons it is faster to use the orbit buttons. To do this you simply.

• hit control + home to jump to top of page.
• hit shift T to jump to the bottom table.
• when you do this you are on the first orbit button, hit B one time to jump to the second button.
• then hit control + home then B then V to jump to the docking link.
• dock and drop off the cargo and move on.

Each system has their orbit and planets in a different order and the only way to get quick at dropping your cargo is to know the systems you are in and where all the buttons are. When I am dropping off cargo I almost never read my location where I am docking, I just know how many times I need to press B or T then B to dock where I want. For example if I am in Vosay in VP and I need to drop cargo to Turroth I know I can just hit control + home then shift B to orbit the planet. In the same system if I need to drop cargo off at Enala I simply hit control + home followed by shift + T and B to be on the button to orbit the planet. For the other two planets in the system, Lus and Ceas I just jump by buttons from the top of the page to orbit them.

You have to know the orders of all the buttons in the systems which you drop off cargo. This is the only way to make sure you can do this quick enough. Once you get this down along with picking up missions fast you can fly through hauling.

One note on using the jump gate. If you have a JDN then after you hit f3 and enter to orbit a jump gate you can simply hit control + home, then shift B, then shift G to jump to the JDN graphical link to open up your Jump Drive menu. I hold down shift then hit B followed by G.
